Privacy Policy

A plain-language account of what this version does with information.

Edition dated 9 October 2026

Publisher and privacy contact

Alderwick Ledger is operated by Sterling Media Publications Ltd, 24 Wellington Street, London, WC2E 7DD, United Kingdom. For general, editorial or privacy enquiries, email [email protected]. This is a shared mailbox; please identify privacy requests in the subject line.

Reading the site

There are no visitor accounts, comments, subscriptions, payment forms, analytics tools or advertising networks in this version. Photographs, styles and scripts are served with the site, rather than loaded from third-party advertising or font services. Following an external source link takes you to another organisation whose own privacy notice applies.

The hosting platform necessarily processes network and request information to deliver and protect the site. Hosting-level access controls and logs are separate from the website code. The publisher has not configured a visitor profiling service, and this notice does not claim that the hosting provider keeps no operational logs. Provider retention and any international processing need confirmation by the public operator.

Contact form and email

Entering information in the form does not send it to a website server. Selecting Submit prepares a mailto link in your browser. You then choose whether to open an email draft and send it using your email service. The website does not store the form contents in local storage or a database and does not report a message as delivered.

If you send an email, your chosen email provider and the receiving mailbox provider process the message. Do not include bank details, identity documents or sensitive information. For questions about how correspondence is handled or retained, contact the privacy mailbox above.

Storage on your device

The site uses one local-storage entry, alderwick-consent-v1, to remember your consent choices and the date you made them. It expires logically after 180 days: the next visit then asks you to choose again. No name or email address is included. Optional categories are off until chosen, and no optional tracking tools are installed. See the cookie policy.

Your choices and rights

Use Cookie Settings in the footer to change optional preferences, or clear this site's data in your browser to remove the stored choice entirely. The UK data protection framework may provide rights to access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, depending on the processing and applicable conditions. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent.

To make a data protection request, email the privacy contact above. You can read guidance or raise concerns with the Information Commissioner's Office.

Changes

If analytics, advertising, accounts or server-based forms are added, this notice and the consent controls must be reviewed before those features are enabled. The displayed edition date identifies this version; it is not evidence of legal review.

Choose what this browser may remember. Optional categories start off. This version has no optional integrations; enabling a category does not install a tracker.

Essential

Stores your choices for up to 180 days. Always on; needed to remember your privacy settings.

Reopen Cookie Settings in the footer at any time.
